WHY DO I NEED A REGISTERED AGENT?

A registered agent must have a physical address in the State you are working in. The agent must be at that address 8 hours a day. If you don’t have a physical address in the State, or don’t want to list your home address, you will need a registered agent service.

You need a registered agent for an LLC, corporation, or other entity when you make a filing with the State. You may also need a registered agent for a department of licensing. It’s just a legal requirement so the State or public has a way to legally notify you.
